Roundup

2 years and 7 months old
(terrible twos are showing in the form of not listening, stubborn behavior, and screaming or tantrums)

Malia: Started asking a series of "Why?" to everything we say.
Basically potty trained. No more diapers.
Loves princesses and baby dolls. Very eager to help or watch household chores.

Michael: Makes tons of facial expressions and is super hilarious.
Also basically potty trained. No more diapers.
Loves cars, dinosaurs, dress up, wrestling.

7 months old
Carrie: Eating lots of solids. Pasta, cut up grapes, peaches, melon. Pieces of bread and toast.
Working on using a sippy cup, no actual drinking from it yet.
Crawling and following everyone around.
Pulling up on toys.
Getting loved on by Michael who tries to wrestle with her.
Malia shows her love for Carrie in a more gentle way.

We are super excited to plan our trip to Mickey Mouse's house and to see the Disney Princesses. We are planning the trip to be for the kids birthday. Under 3 is free - another reason to be excited!

Funny Stories

Mustard me!
She seriously said that. She wanted mustard on her hot dog.

She's also been known to say "I'm gorgeous." Which I love.

He put the stool on the table to make a tower this big. He was very proud of his creation.
Funny story about this guy. He decided to taste dog poop in the back yard. The verdict? Yucky! Listerine to the rescue.

Birthday party cupcakes at the park. Keep the mess outside!

Another outside meal with messy dessert outside. Strawberries dipped in chocolate.

The headband makes her look so girly.

 Hanging out on the farm.

I just love the sky in the background. I think I have pictures of M&M like this, too.

Strolling downtown. They had to sit on every surface they could. Made for a very slow stroll.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter!

M&M enjoyed their first public easter egg hunt.
 Their first Easter bunny visit.
Performed an egg-periment, baby chicks hatching out of eggs soaked in water
Then they spent the morning taking care of their babies.

Carrie 4 months old and more!

Wow!

I cannot believe how fast time flies when it's not your first child. Four months. Crazy. The other day, Jenna was asking if C is getting teeth because of all the gnawing and drooling. I haven't even thought to check out her gums. Yep - two bottom teeth trying to poke through. With M&M I was peeking almost every day to check on the progress of teeth. Guess it's true what they say....third child's baby book is usually empty.

Anyway, here's the updates.
(left) 2 months (top-right) 3 months old (bottom) 4 months

Carrie is 4 months old. She has started grabbing onto rings and toys and can grab her pacifier and put it back in her mouth (if it's facing the right way). She also can, unfortunately for her, pull it out of her mouth even when she wants it in.

Michael got his first barbershop haircut. He is talking up a storm and is a total ham. He truly enjoys interacting and making people laugh. He is playing make believe and is very good at independent play. He shows concern and compassion for others without being prompted. He now has the room all to himself (girls share a room) with a toddler bed and does really well with that. His terrible two's have started but are not that bad. He has stopped doing certain things himself (wiping his nose, picking up his dropped spoon) and wants us to do them for him. He is also doing wonderfully with potty training.

Malia is still in a crib, but now shares a room with Carrie. She can climb out of her crib, but she doesn't. She hasn't learned yet how to climb in her crib, which means Carrie is safe for now. :)   She has really got the hang of potty training, and prefers the little one to the regular one. She just recovered from a terrible bout of stomach flu. The poor girl threw up 6 times in 12 hours. Malia enjoys nurturing Carrie and has named her baby doll "Baby Carrie". It's really heartwarming to see reflections of our parenting through their actions.

I am loving life right now. J and I are doing wonderfully. We've been able to go out twice without the kids since C was born. We have also started one on one time with each kiddo.

I am getting so busy with kids, baby, work, and eating and sleeping. Ha!
Here are some pictures from Carrie's baptism. I will update on other events, eventually.

Carrie 1 month and more

It's hard to keep up, but better late than never....
Carrie about one month old.

Two Years (M&M)

I updated a picture Jami made when the twins turned one.
Now it shows their newborn, 1 year, and 2 year pictures.
They have really lost their baby chubs.

2 year checkup

Malia and Michael did wonderfully at their 2 year checkup. We were given the go ahead to start toilet training, but also told that things might be delayed a bit considering we just had a baby.
Michael is 27.4 pounds and Malia is 28.2 pounds.

Visit with Santa

We went to the children's Christmas party at church and visited with Santa. We also enjoyed a pancake breakfast and M&M decorated some cookies. This was such a fun experience and I look forward to going next year. They had a lot of activities set up, but they were for older kids. Next year we should be able to do more, and will hopefully know more people at this new church we are going to.

Happy 2nd Birthday!

With the arrival of a new baby, I decided to have the twins bday party away from our house. There is a place locally that teaches gymnastics, but they also host parties. We went there once during open gym and the kids loved it. So I booked our party there. We did a jungle theme for all the little monkeys. The kids played on the mats, trampolines, zip line, and ropes. Then we had pizza, bananas, animal crackers, and cupcakes. All the kids at the party had a great time and I hope the parents did, too. I know our little ones were very pooped when we got home and had a good nap that day.

So now M&M are 2 years old and it seems like yesterday we were just learning all about them. Now that C is here, it really makes us realize how big M&M are. I can't wait to enjoy this next year with all three kids and see how the grow and interact. On the agenda for this next year is potty training!

So happy about her party.

Walking on the balance beam.
