First Time To The Vet

It's time for Chewy to go to the vet. I don't think he knows what's coming to him!

At the vet, Chewy met a cat. I don't think he ever has met a cat before. They got along really well.

Dr. Natalie was very sweet to Chewy. He got peanut butter and cheese in a can!

After the visit was over, they were still good friends :)

The final countdown!

The decking (and everything else so far) has taken longer than expected. The weather didn't help either. Anyway we have one gate, some decking, the railing, and the stairs to finish and then we can say "Project complete!" We couldn't have done this without Jason's family and Chrissy's family and the wonderful friends we have who have helped us with this enormous project. Chewy will be so happy to see this wonderful fence and deck - so much so that he might even christen it for us. :) Ha!

Tons of work done this weekend....

The wood pile is getting smaller.
The fence is halfway done. Still needs corners and gates.
The deck is ready for stairs, railing, and decking.
Wow - we did so much. Thanks to everyone who helped!

Deck Update

We put almost all the joists on the deck.
That's a lot of joists!

As you can see in the background. We also put in the fence posts.
We put a large dent in the wood pile.

Sad News

I just heard that the puppies went to the vet today and got their shots and a check up, everyone did great. On a sad note, mom laid on two of the puppies a couple days ago and they passed away. They have been seperated from her allowing her to nurse only while being watched, and they are now completely weaned.

Rained out!

We got rained out today. No new deck stuff.

The puppies are getting so big

In two weeks we will visit them and pick out which one will be ours.

Deck update

Update: we put down plastic and put some beams up. The drills didn't like it (dead batteries) so we had to quit for the day so we could recharge the batteries. We learned it's best to use a corded drill for this type of project.

Wood is in the house!!!!

Guess what, it rained last night. A lot. The fence post holes are filled with water.

We'll see if we can work around this.

We finished filling the deck post holes with dirt (on top of concrete).

Ok....the wood was just delivered and I'm so excited. I took some pictures :)

The decking is going to be composite wood, but the structure will be treated lumber.

More Progress

Ok, so we set the deck posts and dug the fence holes last weekend. We are taking this weekend off and I believe we deserve it. We will start up again next weekend.

We are building a fence and a deck!

So we got tired of our boring old yard and decided to mess it up by building a deck and a fence at the same time!

After two whole days of hard work (we did start with an auger) we finished the deck post holes!

We're having a puppy!

One of these lucky puppies will become a member of our household August 24th. Stay tuned for more pictures!
