9 months old

The kids are 9 months old. Michael is climbing stairs, crawling, drinking from a sippy cup, experimenting with gravity, and has 2 teeth. Malia is crawling, drinking from a sippy cup, trying tons of new foods (sometimes forgets to chew before swallowing), clapping, and dancing.

 The weather finally cooled off so we busted out the pants and jackets and headed outside to play.

Michael has 2 teeth!

It's super hard to get a picture of a baby's teeth. So I tried to get them on video but it's hard to see. You'll just have to trust me - they are there. Bottom two front teeth.

Malia is crawling (and clapping)!

During our vacation Malia decided to get serious about crawling. She started doing it when people weren't looking, but then she got brave enough to show it off.

She also has started clapping.

First Beach Swim

The kids had their first experience with the beach, the ocean, and sand. Michael immediately started eating sand, which peaked Malia's interest and she started eating it too. The kids liked splashing in the water after the waves brought it up to them, but the waves themselves were too much for them to enjoy.

We really had a great vacation and thank Maw-maw and Paw-paw for their hospitality, cooking, and company. We can't wait to come back when the kids are walking. Our little cookie monsters had so much fun during the trip and we have great photos, videos, and memories.

FL Vacation

Luckily Irene didn't stop us from enjoying our vacation. Maw-maw and Paw-paw were kind enough to let us stay with them this week. We have really enjoyed spending time down here and just relaxing. Jason and I can get away in the evenings after the kids go to bed, which is wonderful!

Michael loved crawling on the lids of some containers I bought recently.

Malia got into a crawl walk position, but couldn't figure out the walking part.

The best part of waking up....

....is happy babies greeting you (not Folgers in your cup).

Goodbye Father Rod

Father Rod, the priest at our church, passed away suddenly. It was very sad, but I was able to dress up the kids and bring some smiles to sad faces.

I also snapped some pictures of the kids hanging out by the sliding glass door.

We are trying to get to the park more often, now that the weather has cooled down.

We started using this really neat backpack to carry a kid in when we go.

The kids love swinging. They weren't too excited about the slide.

8 Months Old!

I can't believe they are 8 months old!

Michael LOVES moving and exploring. He's started climbing whatever her can.

He discovered the dishwasher while we were cleaning the kitchen.

Malia is still rolling instead of crawling.

Michael found how to crawl out of his room.

And climb the railings outside his room.

Cupcake Mania

The kids had a blast at their buddy's birthday party. Jackson is the big 0-1 and the kids had a wonderful time at his party. They also enjoyed their first cupcake experience.

Malia was all about eating the yellow icing on her cupcake. Michael dug right into his orange cupcake. We ended up having an impromptu bath at Jackson's house after this.

Michael steals Malia's things now. She is trying to crawl, so she'll be able to get away soon.

Malia gets rescued sometimes from her brother's antics.

One day she rolled to and climbed up the jumper and started dancing. Watch out!

Aunt Natalie is taking her big test soon. To wish her luck, the kids decided to take a photo pretending to take a test. They were very successful, as I'm sure Aunt Natalie will be.

Good Morning!

Now that Michael is crawling and standing very well, we always wake up to the kids chit-chat. It means they wake up earlier, but they also wake up happy.
