The kids love the recliners. They can climb into them all on their own.

It was very windy outside. Malia did not like the wind.

 When the kids fight they have to say their sorry with a hug/kiss.

 Chewy gets kisses, too.

FL vacation

We had a fabulous time on our FL vacation this year. The four Ohio great-grandchildren spent the week with their great-grandparents. Lots of cousin bonding happened. 

The drive down went well for everyone; the drive back was hard on the adults.

 Malia took a trip to the ER after falling on her head the second day into the trip.

The golf cart was a jungle gym to the kids (and the reason for many bruises.)

 The kids had their own table for meals. I think they enjoyed it.

 Lots of wildlife was spotted down by the pier. 

Lizards, birds, manatee, dolphin, crabs, conchs, hermit crabs, fish.

 The moms enjoyed time away from our daily chores.

I took my kids on a short trip to see a friend who just moved to Orlando. Beth showed us around Downtown Disney and filled us with delicious food. We were her first overnight guests!

It took me a while to get back into the car after we got home. The drive home was much harder than the drive there. I don't think we'll be driving to FL anytime soon. So we'll have to save up for plane tickets next time or make the trip over two days.

We play outside every chance we get. Michael has become quite the billy goat. He climbs everything.

I've been checking out kid activities on the Pinterest website. 

I made the kids lava lamps - they didn't turn out like I thought. I think I need to add more salt.

Then I created exploration trays by putting things in a muffin tin and covering each section.

Malia surprised us when she threw away the pieces of garbage after the activity.

She must have picked it up just watching us. We did not teach this.

The kids got to meet their cousin Ayden this weekend. It was fun to watch them play together.

I never thought we'd be the kind of family that has those family stickers on their car. But then I saw these:

Jason agreed - it was a must have.

The weather we have been having is wonderful. No need to bundle up. We can just go out and explore!

Eating like big kids

Michael and Malia had their first whole apple and they did much better than I thought they would. I think this entertained them for a full hour which is amazing!

When we are up for cleaning up a giant mess, we let the kids have a bowl of food and a utensil instead of just finger food. They really like using utensils.

When we had a bunch of snow we bundled up and headed out to play.
